Key Qualifications:
· Demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practice
· Successful completion of a recognized O.R. Certificate course from an approved teaching institution
· Certification in sanctioned medical acts and added nursing skills
· Completion of the CAN Certification of Perioperative nursing would be considered an asset
· Current BCLS and CPR Certification required
· Reliable and flexible individual to work as part of a diverse work team
· Ability to think critically and effectively in order to prioritize needs in emergency situations
· Highly effective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
· Positive attendance and work record essential
Position Summary:
· The successful candidate will meet performance standards as outlined by the College of Nurses, Trillium Health Centre policies and procedures and established by ORNAC (Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada)
· The successful candidate will continue with contribution to overall surgical operating room team
