Duties & Responsibilities:
The incumbent works with the Media Services Technologist to deploy, maintain, repair and give functional guidance to faculty, staff, and students on a wide variety of audio visual technologies and is responsible for media installations at all campuses. Specific duties include:
- Providing centralized technical support, distribution, loan and rental of instructional and presentation technology;
- Providing College-wide classroom technology support;
- Setting up and troubleshooting instructional and multimedia technology for internal and external events;
- Imaging of loaner and faculty returned laptops;
- Booking and loaning of instructional technology equipment to students, staff and faculty and occasionally shooting and editing College and departmental promotional videos;
- Demonstrating the proper use of instructional technology, video production and multimedia integration techniques to staff and students;
- Assessing, evaluating and recommending new and emerging instructional technologies;
- Installing, maintaining and renewing of multimedia electronic classrooms, lecture halls, meeting rooms and equipment: audio/video/data cabling, projector placement and mounting, customization of classroom podiums, computer and audio system installation on all campuses;
- Imaging of computers in all non-computer lab classrooms and downloading programming to Crestron processors and Touch Panels.
- Repairing and maintaining of projectors and loan equipment;
- Administering and maintaining the database of all multimedia equipment;
- Setting up and maintaining the video editing lab including creation and implementation of MAC computer image, updating of video editing, compression, burning, creation and authorizing software;
- Creating and delivering college wide multimedia presentations during special College events;
- Setting up and troubleshooting of video conferencing as well as Skype and Microsoft Live Meeting to both external clients and for academic delivery; and
- Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the college-wide Lockdown alert system.
Qualifications:

- Successfully completed a two year post-secondary diploma in an audio visual or computer maintenance related program.
- Successfully completed current courses in audio visual equipment and/or presentation technologies.
- Two years experience in a related position that included installing and maintaining equipment, providing audio visual guidance and support, and providing customer service.
- Experience with video production (ie. shooting and editing) to assist students with projects or to assist with College/departmental promotional videos.
- Experience with MAC & Win 7 platforms.
- Problem solving and organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks and meet conflicting deadlines.
- Interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) to provide support and guidance to a diverse clientele.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Travel to other campuses for system installations will be required.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (evenings and weekends as required).
- Crestron programming would be an asset.
